Stop the spread of fire in your premises with a fire door assessment 

It’s a fact that 76% of the fire doors inspected in the UK in 2019 were condemned as not fit for purpose. There are often various reasons for this especially where large numbers of people and use are involved. Care homes are a case in point.

Fire doors have two important functions in a fire; when closed they form a barrier to stop the spread of fire and when opened they provide a means of escape. Compartmentalised buildings linked by fire doors allow the flow of traffic around the building and delay the spread of fire from one area to another. Every fire door is therefore required to act as a barrier to the passage of smoke and/or fire to varying degrees, depending upon its location and the fire hazards associated with that building.
